Map Data

Description Doing some hard study into the enemy patterns of the Metanet levels, I came up with this. The placement of the floorguards, gauss turrets, and the drones were all researched through about 10 Metanet levels. The level layout is the Metanet \"signature\" Hexagon-Cavern style, and the pillar in the middle is the Metanet \"signature\" Keystone. By \"Keystone\", I mean a central piece of which enemies circle around. In the middle is the enemy \"turret\", and since no Metanet levels use a NaN\'d drone (not to my knowledge, anyway), I stuck to making it in a crack in the Keystone. The mines, more decorative than serving as a challenge, compliment the general red colour associated with the Laser Drone. With the \"loop\" style, I allow for enough momentum to be built up whilst traveling upwards, while still making it more than possible to do so slowly. The gold is placed in a way where it is easy to reach, and does not require \"out-of-the-way\" effort to do so.

Taking a technical view to mapmaking, I present to you my second \"Mirrored To Metanet\" map. The entire process behind this map took about seven hours; which includes research, planning, playtesting (both fast, slow, and tactical speeds - along with enemy manipulation), and actual creation (which took about an hour, looking back on map notes). I hope you have a great time with this map, looking back on a particular level you might have especially enjoyed.
Since an AGD would be easier to get, as opposed to my other AGD, a map tileset dedication will /not/ be awarded to the first AGD. However, just to put something out there for the gold-freaks ; the first and second AGD\'s get a \"Verbal Dedication\" (basically a shout-out in the description) in my next map.

Comments appreciated!
Thanks,
~Mosh

Bleh.

Tiny enclosed areas, awkward gameplay, extremely linear play path. Sorry to say, but I could never see Metanet releasing this level. I can see where the Metanet elements work into the level, but this one would have ended up on the cutting room floor. I guess in short, this level is missing the fun that Mare and Raigan's levels have.
I really appreciate your words - not to mention that awesome AGD. For my next map which resembles Metanet, you'll get a big dedication in the description. ^_^!
And.. I'm your favorite author? Wow. Thanks, mate. It means alot.
