Description A 3 way collab
mahi_mahi, fireburnsfree, and myself.
This will be my last map, this site seems to have died far too much to be a part of now, I appreciate the good times that it has brought and the great friends it has unveiled. I am glad that I was able to be a part of it for these good 6 years.
I know it seems that I have put a great deal of effort into this but I was here when playing this game was still hip, when people came for the game and stayed the community. Where-as now-a-days people don't come at all and are drifting away even with the communtity. I hope that 'NARC' brings new life to this amazing game and revives the thrill that this once gave to so so many people.
Thank you all for you time and I so hope that this will not just get brushed under the perverbial rug that this archive has become. I hope that someday this game can become revitalized and overwhelm young chaps with it's addictiveness, but until then, I wish everyone the best of luck with their lives and futures. I bid you all a fare-well.
And please play and enjoy this map.

The evidence is all here, clearly mahi and mystro are the same person.

sorry to see you go

you've got some great maps and great reviews, I mean it.

as for the reasons why the site's population is prone to fade, I don't feel it's any sort of mystery. I've got a deeper history with numa than this account implies, and though I haven't been around as long as you ('07), in my outsider's time I've found that it has to do with unintentional exclusivity more than anything. the community's very cool but as you said, people come for the game, and that's what new users are interested in - lots of comments and ratings regarding their maturation in mapmaking. more often than not they're reluctant to comment/rate others' maps, which 9 times out of 10 leads them spiraling into obscurity. granted, so many of you regulars are awesome about giving attention to no-name maps and authors, but it would be a tall order to ask for feedback on every submission from every author. as for why there was more willingness to stick around in years past, even in 07 there was still a newness about N such that people were excited to innovate and see what kind of batshit crazy mechanics other users were discovering, and it goes without saying that, as new mechanics are harder to come by, the maps are more about refinement now than real innovation (there are exceptions). this is rough because refinement is probably the hardest of aspects for new users to grasp, recognize, and utilize. all in all, nature of the beast - that's my theory.

until next time, take it easy mystro

Bye, dude.

But remember. No one can't escape this place.

Yea my original account was created in '05 lukesv.
SC II and possibly WoW are taking over my gaming regimen.
When there were 100+ maps subbed per day. Now you're lucky to see 20... something really has changed.

So...

Are you still going to be on IRC?

Quite

like this map. Sad to see another mapper go, but I have to agree with you here. This place has definetly changed.
