Controversy seems to be a habitual occurrence on NUMA. And while sparkin' up drama is all well and good, sometimes it's best to just relax and light up, er, lighten up. We forget about the shared love of this simple Flash game that brought us together in the first place. Luckily Brttrx has this map to remind us. So forget about dissecting my ulterior motives in featuring this map - just load it up, take a hit, and chill. — toasters

obnoxious things like childporn (glances at AMLT), there'd better not be rules for what can be in a map/swearing. This is how we are as a community. It didn't start this way; our own users molded where we are now. For us to suddenly promote filters and tone down our content to aid a vast minority would be silly.

Terazza was the youngest we've ever had, at 9.
NUMA was the very first site I visited regularly. I was 16. An eight-year-old kid not being desensitized to the rest of the internet and coming here is not at all unfeasible.

The only people who might be bothered by one of palemoon's lovely ladies are repressive parents who want to keep their kids "refined" or something equally idiotic. By the time a kid joins NUMA, they'll have spent enough time on the Internet to be desensitized to anything that shows up here. Unless they have the aforementioned type of idiotic parents.

And I personally believe that the taboo associated with swearing is groundless; there's nothing inherently wrong with the words, and I find it difficult to see how you could be offended by them for any other reason other than for the sake of being offended (unless they were being used in the context of insulting/derogatory remarks, but then again all words take on a negative quality when used in this context). Besides, this is the internet. If you use it regularly, you really should expect to come across "foul" language.
Furthermore, word filters are terribly difficult to implement, age limits/censors even more so.

I actually would not be opposed to a "mature audiences only" thing. Though I think most kids who were too young to get any subtle references like this map would probably just lie about their age and look at it anyway. Besides, given how much of NUMA's code is already faulty, I doubt this would be easy to implement.
On a side note, I'm 18 and have never seen a bong :p

O think that all the maps like this or 180000 should have the tag "Adult-content" and can only be view by those of a certain age. Maps similar to a lot of Palemoon's maps should not be seen by younger audiences. As for swearing, what happened to LV's word filter?

Though you have a point BP, I'd say that it would only apply to overtly drug based maps; I mean this map is very subtle and only those who knew what a **** was would recognise the tiles, therefore avoiding offending our younger members/members who don't aggree with **** related activities.
I'd also like to point out our younger members aren't as childish as their age sugests. For example Leaff [nmaps.net], who is 11 (or he was when he joined). He is more mature and well mannered than most here and he doesn't seem to mind subtle drug/sex jokes (me and him even made a "tripping ballz" map together :P).

I know the majority of people on numa ar teenagers +, But here I'm only 14, and there's people younger than me.
If a 12 year old, hmm, well-mannered person joined only to see the useage of drugs placed in a feature map, wouuld that make them feel welcome?
I mean, we swear a lot on this, but I just think we should leave these sorts of maps... un-advetised. I don't want to be a killjoy or whatnot, I'm just saying I don't feel okay with this.
