A collaboration with the wonderful Condog. I did the image. He and I both worked on the race, which is pretty difficult but rewarding to pull off correctly. I got way better at perpendicular jumps by playtesting this. |

ERR: DISP BITMTX is a wonderfully crafted race constructed by Templex and Corndog. The race is laden with perpendicular jumps that, when pulled off in succession, feel extremely satisfying. This map is a nice break from the loopy standard that has become of the modern race genre. Combined with an alternative view when viewed in NReality, this race stands out. — blackson

interesting map. certainly cool, if anything
I also have no problem with reviews sans bells and whistles. Though you could have said "race" three less times... :P

Love the race.
It bothers me that the light source for the image's shading comes from the center, but thats such a minute part of what is going on here.
Faved.
Faved.

I'm not sure about the image
but the race makes up for it. I personally don't like the image, especially when it doesn't exactly enhance anything other than aesthetics. I also think the spot near the exit switch is too full of mines.

I can never pull off those jumps :P
I did like the image though, with the shading too.

holy balls
I think there are two things here of note since my last comment.
1) The reviews in the style that I generally use (which I am not the only one) are being refered to as 'squibblesqueish', that is to say, that style is that of me. You know what this means? I win, ChrisE. I. Fucking. Win. >:D
2) 'squibblesqueish'. Someone write that down. Official term now.
Also, seriously, freaking huge thanks, koipen for flagging me as the figurehead of creative writing in the community. That's...pretty bloody awesome. I don't care if you did it in a negative way, it's still insanely cool. :D

I remember this!
This was made at around the same time I finally hooked up with that irc malarkey.

i remember playting this some time ago
Theres no sense of direction, i hate races like these. Difficult (yet fun) jumps are one thing, but i had no clue when to make those jumps. It's not just abstract, its absurdly confusing in that your only hints are scattered 1 tiles. Bleh.

or hot gods
sarasvati is pretty smokin

you are wrong
every review needs to be a hot dog
i could go for some hot dogs

The review was
nice because it had some reasonable commentary, instead of just a bland description.
I enjoy those squibblesqueish reviews...

Oh hello maxson.
Didn't see you there.

What's wrong with blackson's review?
It's nothing fancy, but it definitely gets the job done.
2010-08-11
I like the review
it's not great, but it's solid.

This isn't a joke Squibbles.
It's a simple review where I talked about what I liked in the map. I'm sorry you don't like it.
2010-08-11
I liked the review.
Nothing is said that doesn't need to be.

I'm going to assume that this is a joke at all the people who complain about creative reviews
Because if it isn't...christ.

5, looked great but wasn't distracting... I don't exactly get the shadows though...they seems to all point to the center. is there light all around or something?
._. the only other demo :( It took a little while but it was a fun challenge

hmmm...
can be confusing and meticulous to play, even with watching demo, but high speeds prove palpable. 4/5

Blargh
The image is pleasant, but the map is way too hard and, consequently, not much fun. The tiles and object placement are such that everything has to be almost perfect. It was interesting figuring out the flow, but actually trying to do it was just annoying.

nice
tileset i dont have n reality so im just gonna give this a 4 without playing it

Awesome.
Great map, it looks like camouflage, 4.5/5 for gameplay and simple imagemap.

The repetative perendicular jumping stops me from enjoying this race
