| Description | Heres the deal, Im being driven away from this once nice community, because it seems some low life has taken the time to go through all my maps and rate them powerly, simply because I seem to have a fan club here. I for one can honestly say that I do care about ratings, and I know alot of people are like this but are to scared to say so, I thought this was a peaceful community where I could just create maps and get feed back on them and some ratings, but it seems to have turned out into a suspicious and jealous place, with many members that act the same. Theres alot of people who act very jealously to my high ratings, which I have already explained and think it is ok to damage my maps, rate them poorly and then act so suspicious of me.
Well no more, Im not leaving, because that would mean I have been defeated, but I am disabling ratings on every single map that I create in the future, I really hope the Numa Community is happy with itself for letting this happen. |

And how mrgy05 said, even if someone is rating zero, its a rating. And if this rating is needed to have a public - why not?
Personally, i haven't been in such a situation. Of course, someone rated my first ten maps a 0.5 or something, but it*s not been that massive.
It really bothers me, when my maps get ignored. No Comment, no rating. No nothing. Thats really bullshit. My last ten maps got more or less ignored. And thats why i think that i don't make so much maps anymore.
But thats offtopic now.
You're a great mapmaker bolta1. Keep your work up, ignore the snipers.
And BTW: 4.5 for that map, makes me feel addictive.

I got sniped, all 500 MAPS
FIVE HUNDRED, if you can't read
ALL 500 maps, three times, back when I had all of my maps. I went through recently, and deleted the ones I didn't like. Anyways. That's 1500 ratings all sniped down. That said, I had over twenty lazy snipers who only sniped between five and fifty of my maps. Did I complain? Yes. Did I make an entirely new map? Probably, I forget. Do I care anymore? No. What did I end up doing about it? NOTHING. I figured out who one of the snipers was, he ran away from the community, and now I am slightly more respected than most of the other people around here. Just because I can keep my cool.

I, too, remember a time when I cared about ratings. I had a pissy sniper rant map.
Then I realized ratings aren't the point of NUMA. The point is to share your lovely maps with other people, so they too can enjoy your lovely maps. Ignore the snipers and the ratings, they don't mean anything in this corrupted realm. Instead, focus on the comments which are a better indicator of a map's quality.

Believe it or not, you're not the only one that gets mass sniped. Think of it this way:

Im not bothered about the sniping, its just how people act so jealously when I have explained the situation, I just sometimes get to clingy over ratings and need to blow some steam over things like this.

As over-rated as you think you might be,
Do understand you are making maps for the community, not for the ratings. The NUMA community tends to be too lenient on ratings, and there are a lot of people rating you down because they are either jealous or they see you don't deserve the rating you have. This is an everyday issue, and usually happens to newcomers. What we look at is the quality of your maps, not your rating. I don't see why you really need to disable ratings for your future maps, but if you have any future problems, get over it like all the veterans did.

A long time ago...
When I was in the 200 map range, I once had a anonymous someone go through every single one of my maps and rate it a zero (no kidding, every single 200 of my maps.) you may be wondering, was I mad?
A little bit angry.
But I'm still here, with double the maps then before. What I could take from it is this, I had around 50 maps that were 4/5 votes (1 aways from public) which means I got 50 some maps public just because this immature nobody thought he would rate all my maps a zero.
It backfired.
I found myself in a higher tier, more rated maps. Even though the rates were zeros, they counted towards something and made my maps notice, every single 200 of them.
The worst thing someone can do to a map is acknowledge it, then rate it not a zero, not a five, or any number in between, but click back and start playing other maps. This is called a N/R and in my opinion much worse than any amount of zeros.

This is just to clear up my high rating
Ever since I started making maps, (i did create practise maps before I joined this site, my friends played them and gave me feedback, because they liked it too) people have started rating my maps 5s, im not sure who or why, just it seems like a little fan club, they dont leave comments or anything. It could be my friends, but I doubt it, I dont think there registerd to the site.
In the end, you learn to just ignore it. Stay strong. ;D

I like your maps
I really do. You are probably a better mapmaker than I could ever be. However, I can't figure out how, when you only had 17 maps, your average rating was 4.5. In fact, at that point, many maps had average ratings of 4 while two people said they rated it 2.5.

I'm sorry I was suspicious of you, but it seems to me as though you're telling the truth (if you actually do disable ratings in the future). But can you explain to me why, if you don't multiaccount, you deleted the map on which users were commenting on your high ratings?
Your maps are awesome, and for somebody so (relatively) new to numa, you are a wonderful mapmaker, and I'm sorry I doubted you.
