I wanted to make an atmospheric floorguard puzzle map. How'd I do? My last map of 2013! See you all in 2014! |

I'll admit, I'm the first to under-appreciate puzzle maps. I'm terrible at them. From the time I was five years old and doing the shaped pegs and holes, I would literally try to put square pegs into round holes, and vice-versa. I have always lacked the basic faculties to do puzzles.
And yet, this map was so much fun to figure out. I don't know whether it's because the puzzle would be easy to most, or because the mechanics themselves were so solid, but either way I strongly feel that this is one of the best puzzle maps ever created.

@anco: It's definitely true that this is quite similar to Valves, but I think the atmosphere and play style are different. I feel like Valves was more about flow and that's it, whereas this map is more about poking around and thinking ahead. Only once you've found the solution to this map does it flow like Valves. That's what I was going for, anyway.

And I guess any map with this style of mechanic is, but I don't see how this is particularly unique.
