My maps got out of hand a lot too
I developed some techniques though to help =).
1) Keep gold to a minimum. No more than 6 clumps of gold. And that's if the clumps are small (5 pieces max). Overall no more than about 30 in a map.
2) Keep mines to a minimum. Add only those that would affect gameplay like blocking/making a path harder than with no mines. Often it is hard to cut mines though =P
these should help make maps look and play better =)

I have to admit
this map has me kinda stumped. Tough but really fun. Almost puzzle-ish but not that confusing. I like your work w/ the modded launch pads.
