I think I'll comment on this one, too...
I like this one very much :]...
But one thing first: This isn't hard. -_- Maybe it's medium, but just because you can't beat it after playing it two times it isn't hard :P... I mean... Look at my APGD, I know it's slow, but it wasn't that hard to get...
Well, why do I say APGD and not AGD? Because there's a NaN'd gold piece :/... The gold also didn't look that good...
On the other side the gold was good placed... It didn't look good, yes, but it caused the player to get into some dangerous situations which was nice^^... The enemy and mine placement was really good here; those edge mines are sometimes a bit annoying, though... Overall you did a very good job :]

And you took my advice in more ways than one. You left the more effective enemies. The Laser is well used because of its ability to shoot down the middle. The Gauss is used well in the close quarters of the start. I actually didnt expect you to change the map. Most people dont edit maps once they are submitted unless absolutely necessary. Once you learn the tricks to mapping, you will rule :D happy mapping

after playtesting,
i realized some of the gold was impossible, and the thwumps became extremely annoying. In the spirit of less is more, i think this is done. What do you think?

about the enemies,
stonedeagle was right. they are inefficient. try to make a map based around a simple concept, with clean, fresh mechanics that progress the atmosphere. in this map, i just ran around and fetched the keys, without 'getting into it' very much. i'd recommend playtesting your maps a whole lot too. take an author's style that you like and emulate it as closely as possible.

It felt...
Overcrowded. Too Many enemies all forcefully shoved together. My Advice: Try to aim for fewer enemies used more effectively. Learn What enemies work best where and how. Don't Just cram every enemy you can into a small space. 3.5/5 ^
