my band program is poor but our band is rising up in colorado
im one of the 7 inaugral marching band kids left, next year ill be a senior at the 4th year of marching band at the school.
last year and this year we made it to state, sure we sucked and got 2nd to last place, but for a beginning band, ill say thats pretty darn good.
id love to write music, ive had ideas burning a hole in my head for a while now, but sibalius is so expensive and i just so happened to pick the worst instument to transpose on, the trumpet, but i enjoy music and it definantly is a great way to live on.
enjoy your musical future, most usually have amazing stories as musicials, like my band director played with the temtations and was one of the best trumpet players in the state of texas, so ul probably have a bright future ahead to

No it's just a regular High school with a really good Orchestra. I'm just taking advantage of the fact that if I write a piece it will be performed and I'll get a recording. Seeing as I'm probably going into composition something like that will greatly help college applications and is in general a great opportunity.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. It's good to know the last 4 years haven't been a waste! I can't say if I'll be back ever, especially with projects such as witting an orchestra piece and maintaining a rock band, jazz quartet and experimental band while balancing an international bachelorette diploma for school (it's a ton of work >_> ). The fact is also that after playing N for a good 4 years I need a break. Who knows how long it will be - I can't say. Though I will be in IRC from time to time. I'm just not in the mapping business anymore or active on the forums.
