This map was featured on 2011-05-22
In Oceans is a masterpiece of spatial engineering. It's an absolutely epic maze, filled with interminable twists and turns, and also nasty things that jump out at you like an overloaded 3D movie. But don't let the structure overwhelm you -- it's surprisingly linear, sort of like those old Pokemon caverns that seemed so daunting but were over before you knew it.

Everything in this map worked really well. I found it very well balanced in terms of difficulty. It wasn't too difficult but still took some patience and determination to prevail.

Those pokemon caves
took me a week to get past one without flash, goddammit. This has some good tiles too. and this gives an amazing feeling of being in an adventure, tight, danger-filled corridors, and the looping around the map again is simply perfect.

too much is going on. All the mechanics are solid, the map is just over-saturated with them.
When you're building long adventure maps, I find it's a good idea to pull back a little sometimes and allow the player space to breath.
I suppose that's just personal preference though, some people love full on intense maps.
