Oh dear...

I guess atob's right in that mood can be a big factor in a person's rating. I just played this map again because I remembered giving it 2/5 but it didn't look so bad. Sure enough, I ended up liking it! I would still say it unnecessarily difficult and long, and of course the chaingun at the start is a pain, but otherwise I enjoyed myself. The rocket is fine to get around, as are the chainguns. I even went for an AGD!

Now I don't know what to think about my rates. Up to this point, I liked to think all my rates were consistent within my own subjectivity. :\ :\

(Btw, this AGD is faster than my previous MGD)

was a dominant motif. didn't see one. atmosphere wasn't really there either.

you should focus more on the whole, than on the individual sections of the map. gameplay was a bit too stilted. i liked the unique structure of the map. 2.99/5

btw, i lost our collab when my computer crashed. erm...i'm busy right now; let's just do it later.

MGD

Didn't like it. I don't know why everyone's complaining about the beginning; the rest of the map killed me far more often than the beginning.

Specifically, I didn't like the enemy usage. The gauss is fine, but the approach leading to the rocket is awkward and finicky. And I don't like the chaingun usage at all. I'm not quite sure why, but I think it's because you haven't defined hiding places, but rather you expect the player to make little detours to hide from them. I also didn't like how the blobs of gold were so big, making it incredibly difficult to get all the gold in one go. Overall, 2/5 from me.

And on a minor note, the trapdoors for the bottom right gold should have been closer to the top left of the gold. I fell into the mines a few times because I was shooting into that corridor and trying to reduce my speed, only to slow down a little too much.

Sorry, but the start is just horrendous. After that the map plays pretty fun, but it's just more of the same old Radium after that. I really think you could give yours maps some more more flair. For example, I thought Blood Gulch was great, the gameplay was a break from the norm for you and it worked out quite well. But I guess if you're ok with mapping like this, who am I to tell you what to do?

And I agree. Sticking to a style, but switching things up is something after 200 and some maps, I can't do.

But I like to stick to a certain style. I guess others have a lower tolerance for that than I do. I just like to map similiarly. But I see your point. When you say a good place to start, are you referring to the map or similar style?
