thicker tiles, less clumping gold and mines, not so many scenic tilesets, just throw together whatever looks good, don't try to paint a picture, start to think of this space as one large open battlefield, you don't have to go from room to room to room, less enemies in more effective places, think about all these things while you are making your next map, create a checklist, something, hope this helps, get a good map out there
