i would recommend
'Losttortuga' if you wanna find some really really good tiles. i even made one out of his "dimonds in the sky"
'StoneySmile' has made some nice tiles too. if you want you could even look at some of mine and try to make a map out of them. just make sure to cred me.

and they're totally frekin awesome right?
maps like that are based entirely off of looks. usually.
anyway, a few well placed mines can have just the same effect as a bunch of clustered ones. from my time on Numa, one thing i've learned is that in a lot of cases, the less items, the better. try making an awesome tileset and basing your map off of that using simple tricks and good placement. also, dont forget to playtest your maps over and over again until its just how you want it (or as close as you're going to get) if you have any questions, just comment it on one of my maps.

i didnt say it was hard
i can do it easily. i just said it was bad. its bad because it looks bad, once you get more experienced in map making, you find out that looks are very important. look up some maps by popular authors like 'AMomentLikeThis' 'PALEMOON' 'turtles' 'astheoceansblue'. do you know what N-arts are?
