or not I pissed people off with my comment I liked it, because rarely do people speak their minds and when you make a contreversial statement it gives those mappers reason to speak out. I see where some are coming from but think about it. How do you get out there unless you either know someone or by chance "get noticed." I mean your name doesn't always get out there through forums and shit. Sometimes "the big boys' have to reach out to the little ones. So what Destiny said seems ignorant to me. You should focus on the map with maybe a glance at the author. That's what I do, and I play every map whether shitty or not. (or as many as I can) But ignoring maps because its not a buddy or a major famous mapper ruins the chances of a good beginner of a mapper to become great and help this website grow. So by skipping these maps your inevitably limiting the growth of all mappers. I hope this reveals some flaws and hopefully fixes them, because I want this site to be as amazing as it can and many are preventing that. So yea, rant over.

The only reason my comment seems so harsh
is that I've commented on this on previous maps in a much more modest way and it gets totally overlooked :/ I'm fine with most negative behaviors by people but someone saying "this is so-and-so" and stating it like it's fact and they're the source of all knowledge is one of my biggest pet peeves :x

I guess i'm a part of that, even though i've never really thought of it that way until now. I guess i click on a map by riobe even when it looks bad, but dont click on maps by authors i havent really heard of unless the thumbnail attracts me to do so.

A feature should focus on the map ahead of the author
Anyways a map archive is about maps and not authors, this thing about fame (on a website even) is a bit overrated.
Think the map was too easy and short and a bit bland, and I guess the glamour is a bit hidden because I'm not that interested in speeds :) Gz on the feature :p
Also I can't relate to the title ;)

Especially with #1. If people haven't heard the author but the map is good, I'll skip it. It's obviously the author the people want, not the map.

I judge a map on the answers to three questions, yes in all cases being ideal:
1) Is the author famous?

I usually don't even look at the author when I play maps. I can repeat myself but it would be a lot easier if you just look down a few comments. ._.

More well known authors make better maps, which is why they are well known. Leaff wants to feature this, he can. He can feature whatever he wants, even the worst map on NUMA. Don't tell people what to review, when it's entirely up to the reviewer.
