Description Part three of the GRS (Global Race Series). Part four will be a no jump-race. I tried to get a god mix of speed and technique. I need to know more types of races. This is a list of what I got so far:

  • Abstract-Done Twice so Far
  • Loopy-Not in this series.
  • KRA-Done once
  • No-Jump-Done once
  • Jump Only-To be done

Guess I'd better start now.
try making a no-jump kra race that does not have either one-ways or jump-pads and is over 2000 frames long. that would be unheard of.

search for bitesized race, and you should see secretion on that page - by me and losttortuga. Try out that concept for a challenge :P

oh- right, this race. Amazing, seriously - i loved the style and speed, although the drones were a bit harsh, perhaps.

but I didn't enjoy the gameplay that much.
mintnut pretty much summed up what I thought about it.
that's the first thing i thought after i finished playing this. you're taking this style too far. there are limits.

It doesn't

really feel like there's any actual race involved. There's too much stalling and some parts are too open.

I haven't watched a demo for flow, but I reckon there should be a deal of intuitivness to a race otherwise it's not really doing what it should do.

This is peaches. It's a bit cluttered - you need to work on making your object placement look more pleasing, but this doesn't affect the maps play. Also, the leftern arch at the bottom seems to clash with the rest of the tileset.

Other than that though, I really really like this. The drones seem to be timed well, the flow is really great, but with maybe a few too many of those walljumps whilst falling. The most irksome of which is the one in the top left. Also, work on some gold placement damnit, x-snap is well boring.

Last thing, some of the jumps in this feel so good to make, and they make this map as fun as it is to play.

Phew, I thing i need to balance all that good sentiment: I hate you.

I have a great idea

Taking onesevennine's advice, use NReality for a race. Maybe I'll think of soem other things while I'm at it.

there is a difference between loopy and flowy.

this race, in my opinion, is not so flowy and isn't that original either. (it seems very related to enter tanned-man)


but I like parts of it, and as a whole it was really good, and I liked the tileset, so ill go with a 4.

try to use your own style. try something nobody has done before.

But you have all of the Nreality widgetry at your disposal. Surely you can think up something with them.

NR on the race for now. It looks good but I get completely lost right after the lower right area. Good use of zap drones, though.
