sniped is

when someone gives you a zero for no apparent reason. also, snipers don't comment. so nobody knows who they are. if you do get sniped, don't complain. it's more annoying than actually being sniped.

a sniper is some one who rates a map very low(below 1 usually) and makes no comment or reason behind their actions, they do it to kill a rating, of a person or just of a particular map(usually its cuz of the person)...

the reason is can be picked out so easily is because it happens on good maps most of the time, that clearly deserve good ratings...so when a rating drops significantly in one vote, the map has been sniped...

its easy to pick out on fresh maps, cuz one vote affects a low amount of ratings(under 5) less then it affects one of high ratings(over 10)...

and that should explain everything concrete about sniping...
it usually happens in first 5 votes...especially the second and third...but thats just observation...
