Chainguns are very predictable. If you look at any demo in a map that uses a chaingun, and view the same demo over and over again, the chaingun will prepare for firing at the exact same times, and fire at the exact same locations every time. Also, you can manipulate chainguns by aiming a certain direction right as it fires. (See demo.)
