The trick (that worked for me) to get the switches consistently is to jump down somewhat diagonally at a 45° angle, alongside 1 tiles without "slamming" on them, in order to maintain enough horizontal momentum to escape floor guards.

Maybe it's easier to understand what I mean with the demo.
