Re-posted, last one got sniped and my computer was lagging... People couldn't find demos and things like that... Anyway... it's kinda short. Just a warm up for me, i just got back from camp last night. But i feel the rockets are really goo in this. RCE as usual people : ) |

what I like about rockets in races
is that they can create some pretty close call, but just one small mistake, and everything messes up. I liked the aesthetics, although I didn't really like some of the jumps

is correct. especially in point number 3. i've seen him post that before, and i've agreed with him before. N is weak in the area of wall-jumping off one-ways; since we can't fix that, we should avpid it.
3, i liked that the tiles held together throughout the whole race--that's not as easy to do as it looks.

I can't tell you how not fun it is to do some variation of this nearly EVERY time...

I'm giving this a weak 3/5
and before you start hurling stationary at me, allow me to explain what annoyed me:
1) Aesthetics - Often overlooked - this map
s appearance was hindered by unsuitable gold placement and ugly door/one-way positioning.
2) object placement, main areas of concern, the mine on the far right side sometimes is hit if you go fast enough when wall jumping, the top part where you have to bounce back off the launch pad is awkward - a flow deterrent; and also the rockets get unpredictable and you often hit a rocket going back. the bit where you have to go through the locked doors is aimless, there is no gold and it's just not nice.
Next offender are the bounce blocks - even when using the 6 tiles to slow you down, hitting the bounce-blocks at too high a speed while using the 'flow' often killed me.
3) I don't particularly like maps that require rapid wall jumping to beat the level, but I absolutely detest race maps or any maps that require to wall-jump up one-ways and trap doors and the top bit just kills whatever flow is left.
The map was otherwise alright up until the 10th group of gold, where it just got messy.
here's a sloppy agd to at least prove I played the map:

Couldn't nail that last chimney.
Fun race, nothing too special but it looks quite nice.
