This map was quite easy, due to the lack of enemies. It really helps to have enemies in all/most areas of a map, to keep constant pressure on the player, without overloading the map on them. Also, putting enemies in a universal place so they can cover a greater area is a good tactic to add pressure to a player without overloading the map. For example, the gauss would have been more effective if it was in the center of the map, because it had a greater area to kill players in.
For the tileset, the map was too open. For this being your first map, it is acceptable, but in the future, try to avoid these by doing what I stated up in the previous paragraph. Also, the map lacks that visual appeal. Maps need a visual appeal so players on NUMA will say, "Hey, that map looks cool. I think I will try it out." If a map doesn't look that good, then people will just skip over it.
Finally, I think I can speak for everyone on NUMA for saying don't put trap door switches under gold. This is one of the things all players dislike, so please avoid them in the future.
