2. Try clustering your gold. By this I mean don't spread it out and about in single pieces. If you play some of the more well-known authors maps you'll see that they generally cluster gold. In this way you can create good gameplay by not going for most of the gold, or you can create gold challenges by clustering some gold together and making it somewhat difficult to get.
3. Object placement is important. Don't place objects in annoying areas (for example, that trigger in the bounceblock area), because that brings down the gameplay A LOT. Try keeping your objects minimal to start. Spamming objects never does anybody any good, no matter how well they think they've done.
I hope that helps and maybe you can create a pretty decent map with those tips.
