Description | Okay, so here it is: An 8 Bit Adder. I got the basic concept for this in Chemistry today. It's quite space efficient, so this concept might allow for a 12bit adder, although there is no practical use for it, and I doubt I could make a 16 bit adder like this. In any case, input two 8bit binary numbers in the first two rows (activating the switch = 1, leaving it as it is = 0) then follow the parcours activating all switches you come by and at the end, look at the nice trapdoor-binary-output.
Inspired by AlliedEnvy's AND and OR maps yesterday evening, though this is not related to his 4 Bit Adder as I designed it without knowing about that. If you want to know how this works, look at http://numa.notdot.net/map/10058 , I explained the logic behind it there. Should you run into any problems (no way left to go, more than one possible way without cheating through one way platforms), tell me the addition you tried to make and I'll see if I can fix it. Notes: -might take a while to load/play slow, had to use onewaydoors to fit it into the N maparea. - Because of this, movign around might not be all too smooth. Have fun and enjoy it. |
